Casino Hotels
Four Canadian casino hotels, listed for their rooms, restaurants and stages first.
-
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Montreal Casino & Hotel
Île Notre-Dame sits in the St. Lawrence, inside Parc Jean-Drapeau. The main building was once the French pavilion at Expo 67, and its stacked, angular floors still announce it.
Several restaurants spread across the levels, from casual counters to a proper dining room. A cabaret hall hosts music and comedy. The gaming floor takes up the space between.
From the upper windows, downtown Montreal lines up across the water. The metro reaches Jean-Drapeau station, with a short bus ride for the final stretch.
-
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada
Fallsview Casino Resort
A tall hotel tower rises above the Canadian side of the river. Ask for a falls-view room and the Horseshoe Falls fill the glass.
Guests have a spa, a run of restaurants and a shopping concourse without leaving the property. The theatre books touring musicians and comedians.
The gaming floor is large but easy to bypass. Midweek visits outside summer tend to be calmer, and the falls look remarkable in ice.
-
Richmond, British Columbia, Canada
River Rock Casino Resort
Vancouver International Airport is a short ride away. Bridgeport station on the Canada Line is right opposite, so downtown Vancouver is roughly half an hour by train.
The hotel offers rooms and suites, and guests have use of an indoor pool. A show theatre programmes concerts and comedy through the year.
Sitting on the Fraser River, the resort has a small marina beside it. Restaurants and bars ring the central gaming area.
-
Rama, Ontario, Canada
Casino Rama Resort
Rama First Nation owns the ground under the resort, which faces Lake Couchiching just outside Orillia. Toronto is about an hour and a half south by car.
Its hotel tower has a spa and a choice of dining, from quick meals to sit-down restaurants. The entertainment centre seats roughly five thousand and draws headline acts.
Summer adds lakes and cottage country to any stay. In winter the area turns quiet, and the drive asks for more attention.
